[Star Wars: DD Episode II]

Pretty dull if you ask me

Alright, according to the author of this flash film it takes place 500 years after the destruction of Death Star II. Amazingly, this doesn't seem to prevent Darth Vader from still being very much alive and evil, despite the fact that he died after his life-sustaining suit stopped working because of the damage he took from Emperor Sidious' lethal Sith lightning. Was this story written by an 8 year old?

And then we come to the poor excuse of animation, which is pretty much just a bunch of gradient-filled motion tweens moving at a painfully choppy framerate (nice hyperspace effect, by the way). In a desperate attempt to find a positive thing about the graphics, I'll say that you drew the characters and ships pretty well.

Nice try, but no cigar.

First of all, and this is for DroopyA; sure, it was wrong for Dedwrench to behave so stupidly. But that's no reason to start spewing out lame gay jokes. Tears For Fears just so happens to be one of the coolest groups/duos of the 80's, I wonder if you've even heared one of their songs. By the way, "Spirited Away" is not a Disney movie, that's "SPIRIT".

On to the flash itself. I thought the dutch speaking was hilarious, but can't really appreciate the Coleman humour in your way cause I've never really watched much of his stuff. But hey, I laughed plently and that's gotta be worth a few points.

I’m confused (and that’s apart from the off-topic Tears for Fears and Spirited Away debate) – you thought some part of this movie was actually hilarious, and you also laughed plenty, and then you only gave it a 3?

There are plenty of Flash animators here, who are way better than me, so I can understand that my stuff might not impress everyone. But if someone is critical, I sometimes look at their profile, to see if they’ve made Flash movies of their own. Because I figure maybe they gave me a low vote because they’re that much better than me – an I like to check out their movies, to see if I can learn something. Because I figure, it’s a good thing, to try to improve ourselves. It’s not that I think only people who make Flash movies themselves, should comment on other movies. But I DO think that animators sometimes understand it better, because they know first-hand, how hard and time-consuming it is.

Well I looked at yours, and I think it’s very cool that you’re making Flash movies – congrats on learning Flash, and keep at it, dude. And I’d hate to be critical here, but considering the quality of your own stuff, I’m puzzled you’d award this one a 3, especially it gave you plenty to laugh at, you know…?

Let's see... well I can see you put a lot of effort into voices and stuff. Did you do all of them? Cause that's one helluva impressive female voice, haha. Dunno about the graphics though, they were ok but I could tell you had traced some of them. But it's a nice concept and a bit funny as well!

Not too bad

Interesting concept for a flash movie... but it seems kind of dull and quickly gets boring. And that song you claim to be made by Aphex Twin is not by him at all, I think this is the old original version cause the cover Aphex Twin did had breakbeats in it.

That's some pretty impressive frame-by-frame animation. I reckon it would fit well in a music video :)

Now THAT's what I call flash animation! It runs really smooth too! Have you ever thought about teaming up with OrtizAnimations for some project? You two seem to be the perfect mix for a kick ass move. Anyway, this stuff is great!
